Williamsburg Book Festival Student Writing Competition

Divisions:  College, High School, Middle School

Theme: Any

Categories/ genres: Poetry 1 poem (16 line limit), Non-Fiction (2500 word limit), Short Fiction (2500 word limit)

 

Rules: Attach entry sheet and entry as separate attachments and email to:

susanwilliamsonnc@gmail.com  with subject “Contest”

Entry Requirements:

 

• Entry should be typed, double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font with title at the top. Any entry with author name will be disqualified.

• No entries may use AI

 

Entries due November 15, 2023. Winners will be announced in early January and presented at the 2024 Book Festival.

 

Prize money in each Division sponsored by Williamsburg Community Foundation:

 

College: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50 (winners will be chosen from the best of each genre)

 

High School: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50

 

Middle School: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50
